This past fall, I travelled into Nepal with the Anthill Film crew. The objective was to discover and photograph how the sport of mountain biking is growing fast in the country of Nepal. We were completely floored by the hospitality of the local Nepalese mountain bikers and how hardcore in love they are with the sport. Further they went on to share with us some of their favorite routes through the Annapurna ranges of the Himalayan Mountains. Bike Magazine was all over the idea, and showed their stoke by rewarding us with a cover and an unprecedented 16 page feature. Shout out to my long time friend Jonathan Schramm for joining forces with me to write this epic trail tale.

Truly a pleasure being granted a documentary photography style catalogue assignment in the fine state of Idaho. The idea was to simply live a ‘locals’ life by spending time with Specialized team ripper, Rebecca Rusch. By living the life of cycling with the locals, you indulge into amazing singletrack, rowdy rodeo, and drinking Idaho micro brews at the community races. alltime pure mountain, bike culture.

Those that know, know. The riding here in the Southern Chilcotins defines epic, thus a perfect place for Weir and Shandro to put the new XTR through its paces. Easy to find yourself into hour 8 or 9 on a basic loop. A great opportunity to flirt with the onset of winter and find some setting rays of sunlight through the first snows of the year. Yes, having a light to get out is recommended.

Gone Fishin….Chinook Fishing British Columbia

In the circle of a year, it is a special treat for me to roam out somewhere along the British Columbia coastline and try and intercept a few Chinook Salmon. I find Salmon to be such intriguing creatures in both pure beauty and also for the amazing journey that they experience in their lifecycle. Does any creature get to indulge in our vast beautiful British Columbia more so than Salmon? The goal is simply to say hello, to be in the coastal elements with them, to see that they are around and healthy, and to see if I know what it takes to tantalize their senses. It is not about putting fish in the boat, the reward in returning one of these spectacular fish far exceeds the shallow feeling of bonking ‘the big one’. We need these Chinook to make it to river and to spawn out their valuable genetics. When i’m lucky enough to catch a hatchery fish or when a smaller one is naive enough to be fooled by my twirling piece of plastic, i love to enjoy a summertime salmon dinner…

Here is a look into some recent road cycling photography I did on a journey through the Basque region of Spain with the crew from Specialized. No better way to see the remote reaches of Europe, than on a road bike. Beautiful narrow roads are everywhere and cyclists rule the road. Instantly realized why some of the strongest climbers in road cycling history were from Spain. Epic pintxos everywhere!
